Château Léognan

Château Léognan has been owned by Philippe and Chantal Miecaze since 2007. Passionate about the Bordeaux terroir and the Pessac-Léognan appellation, they have undertaken the renovation of the estate and developed its wine-growing, hospitality and wine tourism activities. Now part of the BMF Group, the estate continues this work to enhance the estate and its vineyards.

The wines produced on the estate come from the Pessac-Léognan appellation, one of the most renowned in the Bordeaux wine region. They reflect the character of the local terroir and the expertise developed over the years by the estate’s teams.

Situated on the outskirts of Bordeaux, the estate is about a 20- to 30-minute drive from the city centre, depending on traffic conditions.

A wellness centre welcomes visitors seeking relaxation in the heart of the countryside. Here, guests can enjoy treatments and massages, in partnership with the French brand Alaena. Private or group yoga classes are also available.

For an experience amidst the vineyards, you can stay at Château Léognan, a peaceful setting just outside Bordeaux, in one of its rooms or suites, or in one of its treehouses.

Horse riding is available nearby through specialist partners. Subject to availability, horse-drawn carriage rides may also be offered on the estate.

The roads winding through the vineyards of Pessac-Léognan are particularly well suited to cycling. They offer the chance to explore the region’s vineyard landscapes and iconic châteaux.

The region offers a wide range of activities: visits to wine estates, exploring Bordeaux and its monuments, a trip to the Arcachon Basin, a walk around Lac Bleu, or a visit to the Cité du Vin.

Yes, the estate has a padel court. It is available free of charge to hotel guests, subject to booking at reception, and is open to external visitors by booking, subject to availability. Combined packages allow you to combine a game of padel with a social get-together over a drink or lunch at Le Manège restaurant. A package combining padel with a relaxing session at the spa is also available.

Accommodation options include Superior, Deluxe and Prestige rooms with gardens, as well as family suites and treehouses nestled in the heart of the countryside.

The Deluxe rooms stand out for their elegant décor and comfort, whilst the Prestige rooms also feature a private garden, allowing guests to fully enjoy the surrounding natural setting.

Le Manège has been run by head chef Marouane El Ghouasli since late 2025. Here, he creates a vibrant, sun-kissed cuisine, rooted in the local terroir of Pessac-Léognan and enhanced by his culinary background. The menu showcases seasonal produce and an approach that prioritises flavour and quality.

Wine tourism offers visitors the chance to discover the world of wine through estate tours, guided tastings and social gatherings amongst the vineyards of the Pessac-Léognan appellation.

The estate is situated in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, on the famous Graves and Sauternes Wine Route, a few kilometres from Bordeaux.

Tours of the estate and wine tastings are organised all year round, subject to booking, so that visitors can discover the vineyards, the terroir and the wines produced on the estate.

The vineyard consists mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, grown on fine gravel soils resting on a clay-limestone subsoil.

A shop open all year round, seven days a week, offers visitors the chance to discover and purchase the estate’s wines. We also offer a delivery service within France and to several other countries, including those in the European Union.

The estate produces several wines under the Pessac-Léognan appellation, as well as white and rosé wines under the Graves appellation. The range includes, in particular, Château Léognan, Le Calice de Léognan, Les Sarments de Léognan, the Cuvée Phoenix, Le Blanc and L'Eclat.

Red wines are produced under the Pessac-Léognan AOC, whilst white and rosé wines are produced under the Graves AOC. These appellations are among the most renowned in the Bordeaux wine region.
