At Château Léognan, we produce exclusively red wines in the Pessac-Léognan appellation.

We also have a farm in the Graves region, where we produce two superb white wines and a rosé!

Château Léognan :
our great AOC Pessac-Léognan wine

"Deep colour with garnet highlights. Complex nose with blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar and hearth aromas. Dense and full on the palate, with firm tannins and a velvety texture. The long finish is driven by its aromatic character. "

Terroir and viticulture
  • 6 hectares, sands and gravels from the Tertiary era slid down from the Pyrenees
  • 10,000 vines/hectare
  • Average age of vines: 35 years
  • Integrated and parcel-based viticulture, hand-picked grapes in crates, first sorting of grapes in the vineyard and double sorting in the cellar.
Vinification and ageing
  • Plot by plot, in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats
  • Crushing, punching down
  • Aged in French oak barrels for 12 to 14 months, 30% to 50% new barrels

AOC Pessac-Léognan

"Brilliant colour with dark ruby highlights. Very expressive nose of ripe red berries with a hint of spice. Very polished on the palate, a fleshy, enveloping wine with delicious aromas of pleasant intensity. "

  • Average age of vines: 14 years
  • Hand-picked in crates

  • Blend : 60% Merlot, 40% Cab. Sauv.
  • Ageing : 12 months in French oak barrels
  • Ageing potential: 10 years.

Cuvée sans soufre AOC Pessac-Léognan

"A brilliant colour with violet tints. The nose is subtle and the palate delicate, with aromas of crisp red fruit coated with elegant notes. The finish, with its fine length, is full of youth and fresh fruit. "

Cuvée prestige AOC Pessac-Léognan

"A brilliant colour with dark ruby highlights. The nose is distinguished and subtle, and the palate is delicate with aromas of black fruits (morello cherries and blackberries) coated with lightly toasted notes. The very silky finish is extremely long and elegant. "
