A sensory journey into the world of Bordeaux wines
Château Léognan is a wine estate located in the heart of the prestigious Pessac-Léognan appellation, on the Graves and Sauternes wine route.
In 2007, Philippe and Chantal Miecaze acquired the estate and undertook major renovations to the main building and the 19th-century chapel.
Philippe took over a vineyard that had previously been looked after by the neighbouring Cru Classé, and now makes precise, elegant wines. The Miecaze family's wines began to win medals in major competitions and were recognised by the national and international media.
As soon as the renovations were complete, his wife Chantal welcomed visitors to the Château's guest rooms. The estate quickly became a mecca for Bordeaux wine tourism. Today, Château Léognan is home to a bistronomic restaurant, a spa and a hotel for lovers of our wines.
The vineyards
Pessac-Léognan
The 6-hectare vineyard enjoys a unique location. Nestling in the heart of a bucolic forest that protects it from the elements and provides it with a rich biodiversity, it is managed in an eco-responsible way (High Environmental Value level 4), in order to preserve this superb environment.
The soil is made up of fine gravel on a clay-limestone base, enabling us to produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot of excellent quality, which you'll find in our cuvées!
